Tili Mons came out of a 10 year relationship with the Swedish city of Gothenburg. It was an era filled with adventures, new meetings, friends, love, and heartbreak. But most importantly, places. Places where I spent a lot of time wandering, feeling, and thinking about all the life-changing events happening to me.

I started recording sound samples from my favorite places and combined them with gentle pianos, mellow grooves, vibrant guitars, soothing synths, and that’s how this EP was born. Of course it had to be named “Gothenburg”. The music is not only a tribute to the city, but encourages a close connection to memories, to the mind, and to inner feelings, be it good vibes or bittersweet recollections.

It is not the purpose of the music to demand too much attention, but rather lay low in the background like a calm, blue, lake with slow waves easing towards the shoreline. To me the music is about reminiscing, revisiting those places, the life I had in Gothenburg, and all the emotions I felt during that time. My hope is that the music will let you visit your own places and emotions. Or just take a peaceful break and de-stress for a while.
